Yes, so I'm quite sure that nobody reads this xanga site anymore- why would you, it hasn't been updated in 6 months!  Anyway, this is to let those dedicated few out there who still would like to follow the details of my thrilling life that I have a new online site, it is:

www.theadventuresofhuckfinn.blogspot.com

My family all has those type of sites, so that seemed to be the best way to stay in touch with them while I'm overseas.  I'm sure I shut this site down soon, when I get around to it.  And yeah, I would love to stay in touch with people while I'm gone, so leave your emails or such on the other site if I don't have it :)  Peace!

Be Thankful

I hope you all had spectacular Thanksgivings!  I have been reminded over and over again this semester of how much I have to be thankful for.  It amazes me, and I feel compelled more than ever to listen for God's calling of how to use my blessings to bless others.  It saddens me to see how materialistic even younger kids have become, and how bizzarre it is that we make Christmas lists.  We need nothing.  I don't say this in judgment of anyone, because I do the same things.  But this semester I've felt extremely guilty about how much I have, and the way I live my life.  And I think this is a good thing.  I think too often we're complacent in this world, and we need a wake up call to remind us that we are merely stewards of everything, that it all belongs to Him.  I need to figure out how to use what I have to honor Him.

Two observations:

First, one thing I never cease to find amusing (even though I do this just as much as the next person) is that students arrive at class, sit down, and chat with their friends, whatever.  The prof walks in, starts class with a couple general announcements, and then launches into his lecture.  All of a sudden, there is this flurry of rustling, as everyone hastily digs in their backpacks for their notebook and a pencil.  Every day!  I mean, does it come as a surprise when the prof starts delivering notes?  Were we not expecting to use paper today?  I don't know, it just make me laugh.

Second, someone waved at me while my car was pulled up behind theirs at a red light this morning on the beltline.  I have no idea who this person is (the sun was glaring, I could not see the person's face), but since they were waving at me I assumed I knew them, so I smiled and waved back.  Hopefully it wasn't someone creepy.

Note: Yes, I am still in Michigan, and yes, my entry does say the sun was shining.  Miracles do happen.

Even though I know this is only opening myself up for unending commentary, I still thought I would let ya'll know that yesterday was a monumental day in my life:

I got my first cavity filled
